How to: Google

We often think we have a grasp on the use of the internet and search engines.  In the background sites like google, Facebook etc have a lot going on that are impacting your searches.

Recently in my PIDP course 3240 a classmate posted this video.

This also reminded me of observations of how people are using search engines and how we can increase our productivity and find the right things quicker.

I know that by the time I was leaving school we were still using CD-Rom versions of Encyclopedia Britannica more than we were using the internet. In today’s classroom they are not teaching the dewey decimal system, they are teaching refined searches.
